I was sure the trees (4 of them) were not fertilized, which is why I tried repeatedly to fertilize them. The game just wouldn't do it, and it wouldn't give me the popup saying "already fertilized" either. When I reloaded later, the behavior wouldn't repeat. Strange. But if no one else has encountered that, I'm going to write it off as some anomalous code execution. Maybe a cosmic ray hit my RAM or something. (I knew a CS prof who once had PROVED such an occurrence.) But I also know from experience that these unrepeatable problems are the bane of every QA person. They take a ton of time to look into, and many times they have to give up in frustration. So I figure the problem's got to be worth it to solve, before spending the effort.
