Ginger Island?
Do Lightning Rods work on the Ginger Island farm? Is lightning even a risk there? --Bladeoflight16 (talk) 02:19, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

Lightning rod error?
On the page, it gives an equation to find out the chance of a rod being struck by lightning. The equation is here:
1 - (charges rods / total rods)
One of the examples shows this:
50% of the rods are charged, so that means there is a 75% chance of one being struck.
So let's do the math, with an example number of rods.
1 - (5 charges rods / 10 total rods)
1- (0.5) = 50%
Am I missing something that makes 75% correct? If it's a mistake on my part, then I apologize. Surfersurfer (talk) 16:42, 23 January 2025 (UTC)
- It's easy to miss, but there's a small ² at the end of the formula, meaning that (charges rods / total rods) is squared before subtracting.
- In your example:
- 1 - (5 charges rods / 10 total rods)²
- 1 - (0.5)² = 1 - (0.25) = 75%
- So the formula seems to work.
