[[Winter Seeds]] are a type of seed. Mature plants yield, at random, a [[Winter Root]], [[Crystal Fruit]], [[Snow Yam]], or [[Crocus]].

While Farming Skill normally increases the chance to grow a quality crop, Foraging Skill increases the chance to grow a quality crop from Winter Seeds. Choosing the [[Skills#Foraging|Botanist profession]] will ensure iridium-quality crops grown from Winter Seeds.  
Crafting produces 10 seeds, whereas placing winter root into seed maker produces 1 to 3 seeds.
The [[Traveling Cart]] may sell only one seed for {{price|100}}.


Unlike other crops, on the day a plant from a winter seed is available for harvest, there is a chance that the tile will revert from a tilled state to a non-tilled state, requiring the player to use the [[Hoe]] again to make the area plantable.
Crows do not attack crops grown from Winter Seeds, so the use of [[Scarecrow]]s is unnecessary.


It is one of the season-specific, wild seed packs, along with [[Spring Seeds]], [[Summer Seeds]], and [[Fall Seeds]].
