It is also a rare drop from Green Slimes, and may be produced in Slimejack, Crayfish, Snail, or Periwinkle Fish Ponds.
Green Algae is displayed in the Fish section of the collection tab, and counts towards the four fishing Achievements.[1] However, it is otherwise not considered to be a fish, and therefore cannot be sold to Willy at the Fish Shop.

Tailoring
Green Algae can be used in the spool of the Sewing Machine to create the dyeable Collared Shirt. 
It can be used in dyeing, serving as a green dye at the dye pots, located in Emily's and Haley's house, 2 Willow Lane.
Quests
- Green Algae may be randomly requested during any season at the "Help Wanted" board outside Pierre's General Store for a reward of 45g and 150 Friendship points.
- 2-3 Green Algae may be requested by Bullhead, Carp, Largemouth Bass, or Midnight Carp in a Fish Pond quest to increase the capacity of the pond from 3 to 5.
