Revision as of 10:43, 7 April 2026

This is a documentation of "Help Wanted" Item Delivery Quest system, as the way it is currently described is incomplete and inaccurate. Will probably get expanded onto other daily quests, as well as some specifics on Garbage Can items.

Most of the information here is taken from ItemDeliveryQuest, Utility::possibleCropsAtThisTime, Utility::getRandomBasicSeasonalForageItem.

Item Delivery Quest

Seasonal Crops

Utility::possibleCropsAtThisTime

There's a 15% chance for the item requested to be a crop. Otherwise, an item from the second list is requested.

During first seven days of the season, only particular seasonal crops may be requested. Starting from the eighth day, any seasonal crop may be requested. New crops begin to be requested at the start of Year 2, as well as after gaining access to the Desert.

Fishing Quest

FishingQuest.cs

Willy or Demetrius may request one of these fish to be caught, depending on the season. The amount of fish requested increases the higher player's fishing level is, and decreases the higher fish's selling price is.

  • Note: Techinically there are different odds for fish like Pufferfish, as it can only be requested by Willy, or Red Snapper, as it's the only one Willy may not request during Winter. Again, this table's goal is not providing odds but the general overview. This note, too, will be deleted in time.

Gathering Quest

ResourceCollectionQuest.cs

  • Note: The formulas used to determine the amount of resources to gather are too complex to include any reasonable ranges. "usually 20-40", you say? Good 'nuff.
  • Note: This also applies to the reward for the quest, as it's determined using the value different from the final amount requested.
  • Note: This leaves nothing of note, actually. I had a tasty meal today.
  • Note: Gold Ore cannot be requested until the player reaches level 40 in the Mines, and is replaced with Copper Ore if generated, though the quest keeps tripled reward still.

Garbage Cans (Not A Quest) (Whatcha staring for, it's a Garbage Can)

GarbageCans.json -> ItemQueryResolver.cs::RANDOM_BASE_SEASON_ITEM -> Utility::getRandomItemFromSeason.

  • Garbage Cans use the same code as generic + seasonal lists (i.e. all of the above, except for crops), as well as specific trash items already listed on the Garbage Can page. I'll fix the mines-related lists there eventually. This section will not be present in the article.

Notes

  • Fish-and-Forage section:
    • Spring code also adds another copy of Seaweed and Joja Cola to the Spring list before adding it to the generic one. Do they stack with the generic ones? Are these two items more likely to be requested during Spring due to being duplicated on the list? Not quite certain, but dabbling into the odds is beyond the scope of this article.
  • Item-Delivery-Quest:
    • Supposedly, some cooked dishes can be requested too. Specifically recipes known by player, all ingredients of which can be acquired during the current season, i.e. are either in the above Crop list or the Seasonal Items list. I have not seen or heard about the cooked dishes being requested, so there are two options:
      • 1) I've misread the code, or it is modified elsewhere, and something prevents them from being added to the list entirely. Likely.
