From Stardew Valley Wiki
Revision as of 23:06, 23 March 2018 by imported>Margotbean (buff countdown while paused)

Buffs are temporary boosts or drains on the player's stats and abilities. They can be achieved by consuming various foods and drinks, or from monster attacks. The following table lists known buffs and their causes.

Note that "Tipsy", "Jinxed", and "Slimed" are often referred to as "debuffs" since they have a negative effect.

Notes

  • Pausing the game (using "E" or "Escape" by default) does not pause the countdown timer for buffs. The countdown timer display will freeze while the game is paused, but when gameplay resumes, the timer will automatically decrease by the amount of time the game was paused.

Trivia

  • The terms "buff" and "debuff" do not appear anywhere in-game; they appear only in the underlying game code.
