Buffs

Buffs are temporary boosts or drains on the player's stats and abilities. They can be achieved by consuming various foods and drinks, or from monster attacks.

Eating a food with buffs will wipe out any active buffs and replace them with the buffs from the newly eaten food. If the newly eaten food has no buffs, the existing buffs will remain in effect. The only exceptions are Triple Shot Espresso and Coffee, which stack their +1 Speed with any other food's buffs (including Speed).

Note that "Tipsy", "Jinxed", and "Slimed" are often referred to as "debuffs" since they have a negative effect.

• The terms "buff" and "debuff" do not appear anywhere in-game; they appear only in the underlying game code.

History

• Sometime between v1.11 and v1.3, a bug was removed that caused the duration of buffs to decrease as the day progressed.
