::You're right. In the beta log of 1.6.9, there is a message saying "Fixed Leo following his island schedule after moving to the mainland", so this bug should have been fixed in 1.6.9. == Schedule Anomaly ==
After the player has 6 hearts with Leo (and he has also moved to town), on a Summer Monday when it is sunny in town but rainy on Ginger Island, Leo is unavailable, for greeting or gifting. From the earliest part of the day, his sprite is in his Island Hut atop his perch at the top left, but he is unreachable. From time to time, he moves off the perch and further left and upwards, even farther away. He is also not to be seen anywhere in town. Seems there's some sort of conflict between a sunny summer Monday and rain that day on the Island, breaking all listed rules here. Not sure if that's a bug, or a hole in the article. == Likes List ==
The likes list has some logical errors.  Apparently this was changed before and there was a discussion about it: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/User_talk:Margotbean/Archive_2023#Leo.27s_.22likes.22 .  Cooperka's points are correct; I think there was some miscommunication or confusion.  As written, Leo's Like table essentially says: "He likes most of the universal likes.  Except, he doesn't like cooking in general.  BUT, he does like Bread, Fried Egg, Poi, Mango Sticky Rice, and Triple Shot Espresso."  That is, of course, not true.  Items like Fried Egg being an exception to Universal Likes does not change the fact that Leo does not like them.
I think Margotbean might have been misreading it as essentially: "He likes most of the universal likes.  The universal likes list includes Cooking, except for specific items like Fried Egg."  But that isn't what it says - it's not talking generally about what the universal likes list contains, but rather is talking specifically about Leo.  Thus, it's making an incorrect statement about his likes.  Some other characters have similar issues, as mentioned in that archived discussion.
I don't want to beat a dead horse (sometimes miscommunications simply can't be resolved!), but figured the few years it's been since that discussion took place may have made room for it to be seen in a new light.  As someone studied in logic, I'm very confident that Cooperka's interpretation is correct.
Hope this comes off nicely!  Always tricky trying to correct anyone's logic, as it can come off as an attack on intelligence when it's really just some specific sentence or whatever. Plus, I certainly don't want to have a full-blown argument on the Stardew Valley wiki.  Just thought I'd bring this point back up in support of what Cooperka was saying. : I've spent a while staring at this page trying to make sense of it, which is probably in itself an indication that something could be changed. I haven't studied in logic, but for what it's worth, I agree with what you're saying. In a perfect world, I'd probably change the Likes section so that the only Cooking exception is Mango Sticky Rice, as that's the only cooked dish that Leo actually likes. If nothing else, it's simpler. Look at Krobus' page for a good example: it's so much easier to understand.
: In a good faith attempt to try to understand the other perspective here, I think what Margotbean was trying to say was that "All Cooking other than [items]" in this context only refers specifically to the cooked dishes that follow Leo's "default" cooking preference, which in this case happens to be Disliked. I don't think that interpretation is necessarily wrong, but I'm not sure that interpretation can be easily seen just from reading the page. At the end of the day, the whole reason the wiki exists is to provide useful information without causing confusion or misleading anyone.
: With that said, I'd be cautious about making changes now. There are other pages that depict gift preferences in a similar way. Vincent and Jas spring to mind, there may be others, I'm not sure. So, while I think you do raise some good points, it's worth it to do a little more research and continue discussing the subject rather than rushing to make changes. :: (This will be in chunks, as I ran into the new account large edit restriction!)
:: Yep, no rush intended, hence the Talk section post rather than a direct edit!  (Plus, I figured a direct edit might just get reverted like that old change.  Plus plus, if Margotbean remembers that old discussion with Cooperka or if anyone else has brought it up over the years too, I wouldn't want her to end up feeling ganged up on or hassled about it or whatever.  I am confident that her wording / interpretation of the wording is not accurate, but I certainly don't intend to make her feel attacked about it.  She does so much work running this wiki and, as far as I can tell, seems like a very nice and pleasant person!  And at the end of the day, it's not that deep - my life isn't going to fall into shambles because the Stardew Valley Wiki doesn't word Leo's taste in espresso correctly, LOL.)  I'd be happy to make the changes outlined by Cooperka whenever, but am waiting for an admin to give it the okay.
:: If Margotbean still disagrees, or even if she does agree, I did think of a potential other change that might help regardless.  We could start specifically tacking on the word "universal" when referring to certain categories in this context.  A bit hard to explain what I mean, but let me try haha.  I'll use something other than cooking as an example.
:: ChloeCat (talk) 00:46, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
:: Example: if you go the Friendship page, under Universal Likes, one of the bullet points reads "All Vegetables (including Fiddlehead Fern, but excluding Hops, Tea Leaves, and Wheat, which are universally neutral, and Unmilled Rice, which is universally disliked.)"  That's a long list of exceptions, right?  Certainly helpful to lay it out like this in this one location, but inconvenient to type up all that in multiple places.  What if, instead, we wrote the bullet like this: "Universal Vegetables.  This includes all items listed on the Vegetables page, with the following exceptions. Hops, Tea Leaves, and Wheat are universally neutral. Unmilled Rice is universally disliked. (Note that despite being obtained by foraging, Fiddlehead Fern is classed as a vegetable in-game and is a Universal Vegetable.)" (My alternative bullet point involves separating it into multiple sentences, because I think that really helps to make things more clear in cases like this where there is obviously already confusion.)
:: That way, in all other contexts outside of the Friendship page's detailed description, we can simply say that a villager likes all Universal Vegetables.  We don't need to worry about whether to list out the exceptions, because we've already made it clear that we're referring to not just vegetables in general, but to the Universal Vegetables.  Going back to the whole Leo cooking thing, we could then easily change his table to say "except Universal Cooking other than Mango Sticky Rice".  If I am right in my impression that Margotbean's reasoning for keeping the Leo like table wording as-is is that she basically wants to emphasize the general exceptions to universals, this should address that while also resolving the logical inconsistency.
:: Let me know if my suggestion here isn't clear - like I said, a bit hard to explain!  I'm happy to provide more examples or reword it if it's not making sense.
:: ChloeCat (talk) 00:47, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
::: It seems pretty clear to me, and, like you say, it would resolve the awkward logical inconsistency. My main concern is that people still might get confused about expressions like "Universal Cooking". I understand you mean cooked dishes that are Universal Likes (hope I've got that right...), but are others going to easily understand that? Also a subtle point: as currently written, it doesn't seem to matter whether a cooked dish follows a universal preference, but whether it follows Leo's default preference. That's why Poi and Triple Shot Espresso are also thrown in as exceptions with Bread and Fried Egg, with Mango Sticky Rice in the mix too, because none of them follow Leo's default preference (Disliked). Sufficiently confused yet?
::: I think simply removing the double-exceptions that don't cancel each other out (in other words, everything that isn't Mango Sticky Rice) is still my preferred solution. It's worth noting that there are villager pages on the wiki that are already presented this way. You mention Vegetables; if you have the time, go check out Abigail's page and see how the page presents her unique Vegetable preferences. For me, that should be the standard for all pages to follow. But that's just my opinion. Cheese80 (talk) 18:25, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
:::: Yeah, simply removing the double-exceptions is probably the most simple.  I just figured I'd suggest an alternative for if the intention of the current wording was partly to make sure the non-universals are acknowledged. Agree Abigail's likes are formatted nicely!  And if there were a vegetable that should be in her likes, say carrots for instance, I'd say it should be revised to "except vegetables other than carrots", just like we agree should be the case with mango sticky rice.  Hopefully Margotbean or another mod weighs in at some point and we can make those changes.  But until then, at least the two of us random users are agreed in the talk page!  Lol. Golden Walnuts & Friendship

About how to start friendship with Leo, the page says: "This is done by giving 10 Golden Walnuts to the first parrot outside by the turtle."

Just tested it in-game, giving golden walnuts to parrots is not necessary. To make friends with Leo, players simply need to collect a total of 10 golden walnuts, then enter Leo's hut to trigger the cutscene in which Leo tells the player his name. If you use cheats, this can be triggered even before you give the parrots any walnuts.--Shirotsuki (talk) 13:40, 21 April 2023 (UTC)

Before we change the page, do you have to give the parrot inside Leo's hut 1 golden walnut before the cutscene triggers? I don't have a test save for this scenario... Thanks! margotbean (talk) 16:16, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
The cutscene can be triggered without giving that 1 golden walnut. I used cheats to test how it's triggered, so I just created a new save, teleported to ginger island, added 10 golden walnuts in my wallet, and walked into Leo's hut, then the cutscene is immediately triggered. However, in a normal gameplay without cheats, players can't collect a total of 10 walnuts without giving that 1 golden walnut.--Shirotsuki (talk) 18:14, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
I've updated the page, thank you! margotbean (talk) 17:56, 22 April 2023 (UTC)

Movie Theater Likes

I gave Leo JojaCola but he liked it in my game and was given the message "Leo is enjoying his JojaCola" though it's currently listed in his dislikes. Stanzas (talk) 20:09, 14 July 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for reporting this, I will investigate! margotbean (talk) 02:08, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
I've updated Leo's page and the Movie Theater page. Thanks again! margotbean (talk) 15:03, 15 July 2023 (UTC)

Possible dialogue bug

Under Trivia, it states, "Leo may still tell you it's nice to see you on the island again when you're both on the mainland, particularly when it's raining and his normal schedule dictates he would be on the island that day."

I don't know how to verify this, but if it happens as described, this sounds more like a bug. IntricateSpiral (talk) 21:37, 1 September 2023 (UTC)

Leo's Age

Leo says this in his dialogue in first meet:

“ “We say... 'How many golden walnuts have you eaten?' ...I've eaten 3,729 golden walnuts.”

I think this is considered as days, and he is around 10 years old. Do you think this information deserves to be placed in the page? Peaw (talk) 16:42, 10 August 2024 (UTC)

No, there's no reason to think a little boy eats only one walnut a day. ConcernedApe hasn't confirmed his age (that I know of), so it's a mystery. margotbean (talk) 20:24, 10 August 2024 (UTC)

Desert Festival Schedule

Something strange: On the 16th of spring, I didn't see Leo in the desert. I reopened the day and found that he had gone to Ginger Island. I have 10 hearts with Leo and I am certain that the bus has been repaired. Does anyone know what's going on? 第二个熺 (talk) 14:59, 21 August 2024 (UTC)

It may be a bug with v1.6.8 that has already been fixed with v1.6.9. I don't know... ??? margotbean (talk) 21:23, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
You're right. In the beta log of 1.6.9, there is a message saying "Fixed Leo following his island schedule after moving to the mainland", so this bug should have been fixed in 1.6.9. 第二个熺 (talk) 08:00, 24 August 2024 (UTC)

Example: if you go the Friendship page, under Universal Likes, one of the bullet points reads "All Vegetables (including Fiddlehead Fern, but excluding Hops, Tea Leaves, and Wheat, which are universally neutral, and Unmilled Rice, which is universally disliked.)" That's a long list of exceptions, right? Certainly helpful to lay it out like this in this one location, but inconvenient to type up all that in multiple places. Let me know if my suggestion here isn't clear - like I said, a bit hard to explain! I'm happy to provide more examples or reword it if it's not making sense.
