The first reading grants the player a power that gives them a permanent +1 Defense buff. Once read, it can be found in the Player's Menu on the Special Items & Powers tab. Subsequent readings give the player 100 Combat XP. After reading, additional copies can be traded to the Bookseller for 3 Stuffing.
