Trinket Source
I added a "source" column and included information on trinkets I've obtained. --Darkstreamfarm (talk) 05:06, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
Probability obtained from Crates and Barrels
In the game code BreakableContainer::releaseContents, the code for determining whether to generate four types of seeds is at the very beginning, as follows:
if (r.NextDouble() < 0.2)
{
if (r.NextDouble() < 0.1)
{
Game1.createMultipleItemDebris(Utility.getRaccoonSeedForCurrentTimeOfYear(who, r), new Vector2(x, y) * 64f + new Vector2(32f), -1, location);
}
return;
}
When the random number is less than 0.2, this section of code executes and directly returns, so the subsequent code does not execute. Therefore, the probability of all other items appearing after this code segment should be multiplied by 0.8. This affects the probability of all items available from the container, including trinkets. 第二个熺 (talk) 14:35, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- Wow. I had no idea that whole section was on the page. To be honest, I don't know who's reading all that code analysis, and getting any benefit from it. I think it could be greatly simplified! And then I read that the percentages aren't even correct...
- Please make any corrections to the percentages listed! If you would like to simplify the section (and I mean, really crunch it down to the bare minimum that may be helpful to players), then please do so! I will mark it as a stub for the time being... margotbean (talk) 16:00, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- I have made modifications to the page, simplifying it as much as possible while retaining useful information. I hope my edits don't have too many issues. 第二个熺 (talk) 17:57, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
- Much better, thank you! margotbean (talk) 21:35, 1 October 2024 (UTC)

Trinket redirect
I think there should be a page titled "Trinket" that redirects to the "Trinkets" page (i.e. "House" redirects to "Farmhouse"). Rootflyer (talk) 03:05, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
Edited to add: I found a way to create it but it gave a warning that Margotbean deleted it as "unnecessary redirect". I would argue its necessity for those who use keyboard more than mouse, and it saves a few clicks to type "trinket" in the top right search box and press enter. Currently, you either have to remember to type "trinkets", or click one of the search results before clicking the hyperlink that gets the user to the intended Trinkets page. Rootflyer (talk) 03:23, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- I would also argue it's a necessity, as I ended up here because I also went through the same exact motions of searching on a keyboard, clicking on the create a page button, and then stopped when I saw it was deleted because it was deemed unnecessary. I'd be curious why this redirect was deemed unnecessary, given that there are redirects from singular -> plural pages for other core concepts on the wiki (Tool -> Tools, Weapon -> Weapons, Hat -> Hats, Animal -> Animals, Crop -> Crops, etc.). Maybe it looked unnecessary because other pages in the wiki don't reference the singular and thus may have stood out on the Special:WhatLinksHere page or something (as that does appear to be the case with the singular Tree page, which used to be a redirect but was deleted) but I'd agree that redirects from singular words to plural make a lot of sense for wiki users who use the search bar and especially by keyboard. We exist :') --Hexadecimal (talk) 04:03, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
- When typing "trinket" into the search bar, Trinkets is the only result shown in the popup. A redirect is wholly unnecessary. margotbean (talk) 10:50, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
- Margotbean, please reconsider this decision. As Hexadecimal mentioned, there are already multiple examples of searching a singular word redirecting to pages with plural titles. Try it yourself: type "Hat", press Enter, and you end up on "Hats". Then, type "Trinket", press Enter, and you end up on a Search Results screen with a redlink prompting you to create the page. Two users have already asked for it in this talk page section, which means there is likely a non-zero number of anon users also trying it and failing to find it efficiently. If you consider this redirect request to be "wholly unnecessary", then how necessary would you consider the Tool/Weapon/Hat/Animal/Crop redirects? Should those be removed to maintain consistency? Rootflyer (talk) 17:49, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
- Yep, I'll remove those too, thanks! margotbean (talk) 23:58, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

Reforging Trinkets
Hi, I'm new to wiki stuff and don't think I'd do it "the right way" if I were to add this, but could someone add "3 iridium bars are used to reforge trinkets at the forge" to the page? :D Mlem (talk) 20:16, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- Already on the page, 3rd paragraph. ;) margotbean (talk)
- But "re-forging" is used nowhere else, it's always called reforging. Well, that confused me when CTRL+F for "reforg" and finding 0 results. I'll edit it to "reforging" for consistency with the other pages. See also the mastery page, iridium bars, and others for trinket "reforging", or search for "reforge" and then for "re-forge". mlem (talk)
- I searched (with admin tools) for both terms. After your edit, 3 pages use "reforge" and 10 use "re-forge" including the in-game description of the anvil. So, for consistency, I'm going to replace all instances of "reforge" with "re-forge". You may have to re-train your thinking when searching, but at least all page will be consistent! Thank you, margotbean (talk) 21:46, 16 July 2025 (UTC)
