Proposed change

Can we change a sentence in the first paragraph? Paddies need not is a bit too formal; and by the time you read "paddies", it doesn't explain to the user what a paddy is. I still have no idea; but I assume that it is another word for "taro tubers". Also,"need not" can be altered to "don't need to..." K. I. S. S.

I've made a minor update to include 'paddy field' in that second paragraph so that it connects irrigation to paddies, and it is very close to being the same explanation on the rice shoot page. PenelopePepperPants (talk) 03:06, 4 July 2025 (UTC)
