New page
I'm not quite sure if it's ok to create talk pages for pages that don't exist yet. If not, then I apologize and please move this to the correct place.
I've created a draft for a Player Menu page which you can find from my user page. Please give it a read if you have time and let me know if you have any feedback. I've added icons of the tabs that I can find on the wiki, but there are some tabs missing. If it's possible to upload low-file-size tab icons for use in the page, then that would be appreciated. I play primarily on Switch, I don't have direct access to the image files myself. I'd like to move the page to the main wiki eventually, but there's no rush for that. I know there's a lot of things that need to be taken into consideration first. Thanks. Cheese80 (talk) 19:23, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Cheese! Shockingly, surprisingly, the page looks great, and there's very little that I object to. 😁
- The only issue I see is that (in my mind) I had planned for the Skills tab section to contain a little bit more info. Specifically, screenshots of the various images that can appear in the lower right. Also, I have a screenshot somewhere of the Feast of the Winter Star gift recipient, but looking at your draft, I don't think it's necessary.
- Regardless of whether more info/screenshots are needed or not, there is a conflict with the Skills page. What info should be on the Skills page and what should be on the Player Menu page? Logically, the Skills page should include info about the Skills tab and the plethora of info that already exists on the Skills page. But the page is already very large, and I hate to add to it.
- This conflict (and lacking the time to deal with it) is the main reason I've taken no real action yet.
- I would welcome your thoughts about the issue of the existing Skills page vs. the Skills Tab section of the Player Menu! margotbean (talk) 19:54, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Margotbean, thanks for your reply. I like the idea of adding a few images from the Skills tab screen, I think it would make the description of the tab somewhat clearer.
- Interesting points about the location of the Skills tab info. Honestly, I don't mind that much whether the info is on the Skills page or the Player Menu page. If it does stay on the Player Menu page, one possible suggestion could be to add a 'Skills Tab' heading to the Skills page which contains a link to the relevant part of the Player Menu page. That way the size of the Skills page isn't increased that much, but those who are looking on there for info about the Skills tab can see clearly where to go. - I like that idea very much -- keep the Skills page about actual skills and progression, and all the UI stuff can be on the Player Menu page. Links on both pages to each other. It sounds very good! margotbean (talk) 20:42, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
